Charter ships for delivery of heavy oversized cargo – quarry trucks, as well as extra components – from Singapore to Vladivostok

Distinctive Features of the Cargo

Caterpillar 777D off-highway dump trucks are machines designed by Caterpillar specifically for work in the mining industry, in quarries and in construction, which explains their large carrying capacity and impressive dimensions.

Project Implementation

Our company was given a task to transport heavy cargo in the shortest possible time – Caterpillar 777D mining trucks – from Singapore to Vladivostok. This project required a charter of a ship that would meet all the requirements of this transportation.
Initially, our agents selected a vessel on the route Singapore-Pohang (Republic of Korea), and besides all the agency services, we also carried out a thorough work on loading the trucks in Singapore and produced a complete photo report. Since the cargo on this leg of the delivery only went to Korea and we had to load it onto another ship, we provided our Korean colleagues with further instructions for unloading in the transit port of Pohang, and the cargo was safely placed in the warehouse there.
At the same time, we had chartered a second vessel for the Pohang – Vladivostok route. The cargo was into the holds of the second ship and delivered to Vladivostok, unloaded and placed in the warehouses of the Commercial Port of Vladivostok.
Despite the fact that the transportation was carried out with transit cargo transfer, the trucks were delivered to the client as soon as possible, moreover, the time-charters successfully signed by our agents led to extra minimization of delivery costs.
